Terms of Service

1. The service

ToneCraft converts text you provide into synthetic voice audio, with optional AI-assisted script drafting, captions and bulk processing. Plans are billed monthly through our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, who handles payment processing, receipts and applicable taxes.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in access secure and for everything done under your account. Plan seats are for members of your own team, and if your plan includes API access, keys must be kept secret and may not be shared or published.

Plans are for use by you or your organization. You may not resell the service or offer it to third parties as your own product.

3. Your content and ownership

You keep all rights to the scripts you submit, and you own the audio generated from them. Our speech provider assigns output rights to the account that generates the audio, and we pass those rights through to you in full. Free-plan audio includes a spoken attribution outro that must not be removed.

You are responsible for having the rights to any text you submit. Do not submit content you do not have permission to use.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to create content for fraud, scams, robocalls, harassment, or impersonation of real people without their consent; to present generated narration as a human recording where that would mislead listeners; or for any unlawful purpose. We screen for and log abusive patterns and may suspend accounts that trigger them.

Two further rules flow through from our speech provider's terms and apply to all audio generated here: you may not strip, alter or circumvent any provenance metadata or watermark embedded in the audio, and you may not use the audio to train machine-learning or AI models.

5. Your responsibility for what you publish

You are responsible for the content you create with the service and for how you use it. If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you submitted or generated, or because you used the service in breach of these terms, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable legal costs we incur from that claim.

6. Credits, billing and refunds

Plan character allowances reset each billing cycle. One-time top-up characters do not expire. If a generation fails on our side, its characters are refunded to your balance automatically.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancelling keeps your plan active until the end of the paid period. Except for the automatic refunds above or where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. Payment disputes and invoice questions are handled through the Lemon Squeezy billing portal linked from your account.

We may change plan pricing or allowances; changes are announced in advance and take effect from your next billing cycle.

7. Service quality and availability

Synthetic speech quality varies with input text and language, and AI-drafted scripts are a writing aid that can contain errors — review anything before you publish it. The service is provided "as is" without warranties; we may throttle, queue or pause generation to protect capacity.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, revenue or data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

8. Copyright complaints

If you believe content generated or stored here infringes your copyright, message us on X (@ToneCraftAI) with a link to or description of the content and the basis of your claim. We remove infringing content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Termination and changes

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-app or by email, and continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
